A Dream Come True

By Moses Wafula

We are called by God to do something. Not just coming to church, being a good christian and going home. This is not what God called us to do. God wants us to serve Him!

Most people have dreams! A series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep. Not all dreams mean something significant and not all dreams are from God! We must be very careful interpreting our dreams. Interpreted in the wrong way, can alter your life negatively! I want to talk to you about Godly dreams!

God gives dreams for mainly 3 reasons. One, God is bringing a warning. Two, God is telling you your future and three, God is giving you His purpose for your life. God is not coming to tell you regarding your past, because the past has no value. God said, and He will do it. He started it and He will accomplish it (achieve or complete successfully) because He started these things in you, maybe around 10 or 12 years old. You may go through rough times before the vision is accomplished but if you walk with God, He will do it! Like Joseph in the bible, God showed you His vision for your life. Where you are now, the vision cannot be accomplished so God will take you to the place where the vision will be fulfilled in His time and way! But He started the vision somewhere. Everything you need is not in place when He gives you the vision. For example, people, material or provision. He will take you to the place where the vision will be fulfilled.

Abraham in the bible, left his home and family to go to a place where God led Him.

Genesis 12:1-3, “Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
 I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

God tells Abraham to go. He did not tell him to stay where he was until the vision was fulfilled. No, Abraham migrated. He moved not knowing where he was going. In other words, he roamed, wandered or drifted until God showed Him the place. He was just obeying God, who had given him a dream where He would bless him and all nations would call him blessed! Understand, Abraham and his wife, Sarah, had no children at this time and they were old in years already!

Habakkuk 2:3,"For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.

Jesus was supposed to come from Nazareth. Nazareth was not mentioned in the earlier prophecies. Nazareth was a very small city and not well recognized. So, Jesus could not be born there. Therefore, the vision the prophet Isaiah sees is Jesus born in Bethlehem! God recognized Bethlehem because it was a big city. Also, Bethlehem is were the King was and Jesus had to be in that place. People did not know Jesus was a King but this is were God wanted Jesus to come from the kingdom area. He would bring up the poor city, Nazareth, to become recognized. Jesus grew up in Nazareth and when He reached 12 years, He moved to Jerusalem and spent His time there in the capital city. When the time comes, God reveals Jesus from Jerusalem. Even though, His ministry started in Cana, where He turned water into wine at a Wedding, His ministry officially started in Jerusalem and were people rejected Him! This was written by Isaiah, the prophet, it would happen this way. We see, it happened the way God said. God moved Jesus to the place of the vision for the prophecy to be fulfilled!

The enemy may know the vision is birthed because he can hear God talking to you about it. But the enemy does not know when the vision will come to pass, nor do you! Only God knows this and He will tell you as you need to know. Again, how does the enemy know about the vision? He listens to what God is telling you. He only has what he hears to go by. There is only one God! But, when the enemy hears, he then starts fighting you for the vision. Otherwise, the enemy knows nothing! This is so important you remember this and that he has NO power to stop the vision but he will surely fight. This is why you pass through hardships, obstacles and confusion before the vision comes to pass. The enemy is trying to hinder the vision in you but he knows full well, he has no power to stop it.

You may say, some believer’s have went to heaven and the vision was not fulfilled as far as you can see. For example, you knew them personally. What about them? The answer, this is not because satan, the enemy, had the power to stop the vision. It is also, not God’s will, because again, He is the Faithful One to start the vision in you and intends and wills the vision is completed! But God’s will is not always done! This is why, He instructs us to pray His will be done on earth as it is in heaven! If His will was automatic, there would be no need to pray, would there? It is also, God’s will that everyone live eternally with Him, however, the bible tells us, more people will choose to reject Him and His salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ!

Therefore, it is not satan who could stop it and not God who wills to stop it, the variable is YOU! It is you who delays the vision. You may not want to complete or obey what God has told you to do! You have power to obey or disobey and to reject or receive. To work with God. God’s will for your life has to involve your cooperation. On God’s side, He has given the invitation: whomsoever wants to come, let him come! It is not about race or culture. God is not this way. For example, Ruth in the bible chose willingly for God to be her God and to stay with her mother in law, Naomi! On the other hand, Orpah, chose to return back to her country and without the living God! Many people can not do much, even Christians, they are just Christians.

God wants you to do something! He has things for you to do! It is time to change our ways and thinking! To be about the Father’s business! This is true purpose and fulfillment!

So, the next time you dream, discern if it is from God. The best way to know is to pray!
